Move Over Shelby GT500, The Camaro ZL1 Is Coming To Town
Ford has ruled the performance game in the new generation of muscle cars with its Boss 302 and Shelby GT500 Mustangs, but all that is about to change with the introduction of the new Camaro ZL1. To combat the power figures of the special edition Mustang, GM fitted a supercharged 6.2L LSA producing more than 550 horsepower into the Camaro. In addition to the more potent powerplant, they also borrowed the magnetic dampeners found in the Corvette ZR1 to make sure you can use all that power around corners and not just in a straight line. The car will also feature special ZL1 20-inch wheels and performance rubber, a sharpened front end, and a vented carbon fiber hood. All this adds up to the fastest, best handling Camaro GM has ever produced. Have a peek at some pictures of the newly revealed car, and you can also see (and hear!) the beast on this video from the lucky guys at MotorTrend who got to spend some time with the ZL1 – See The Video Here
