First look at the 2018 GMC Terrain
The much anticipated redesigned Terrain has landed here at Davis GMC Buick Medicine Hat! It has a surplus of advanced safety technologies, three all-new turbocharged engines matched with nine-speed automatic transmissions, and so much more. We’ve compiled five of our favourite features:
- Standard heated front seats for all trim levels
- Diesel availability (except for Denali)
- Available 360 degree camera
- 9-speed automatic transmission
- Android Auto & Apple CarPlay in all trim levels
The “evolutionary gear selector” combines a number of buttons and toggle switches to create a seamless appearance for the Terrain while increasing the storage space in the center console. Speaking of storage, the front passenger seat also folds down to increase storage opportunities throughout the entire vehicle interior. In the trunk, it is sized to fit various cargo including golf clubs, groceries hockey bags, and more.
“During the test, we discovered that the 2018 Terrain gear selector will immediately shift into “Park” once the driver turns the vehicle off. So if somebody out there were to be absent-minded enough to not return the Terrain into “Park”, the nannies embedded in the vehicle will do so. This level of detail could save a life someday. As could the Rear Seat Reminder. As could the 360-degree surround view backup camera system – exclusive to the Denali trim. And who knows, that OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi could be clutch, as well.”
After taking the vehicle out for a drive and speaking with the sales people here at Davis, the overall consensus is that the redesign is fantastic. Once you get in the vehicle and drive it, the electronic shifter is very easy to use and the features (self-parking, lane keep assist, etc) become essentials to your vehicle desires. It is a lot of fun to drive, so turn on the speed warning alert to make sure you don’t go over in photo radar areas.
